Su Wild-River – Research to enhance local government environmental capacity.

This has been a key professional goal since the early 90's. Career highlights have included

• Working on the 1992 evaluation of CouncilNet – the first local government on-line environmental information service.

• Helping develop the original training program for the devolution of over 10,000 environmental licenses to local government, under the Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994

• overseeing the devolution of new environmental licenses to local government across Queensland, as the Department of Environment Local Government Liaison Officer

• Preparing a doctoral thesis that investigated local government environmental capacity, and articulated the 'local-state antinomy' to explain entrenched misunderstandings between spheres of government

• Leading a 5-year project funded by Land & Water Australia on extending outcomes from the National Land and Water Resources Audit to enhance local government environmental capacity. This project has delivered the following products:
